Regular cleaning of your exterior windows not only keeps you home looking beautiful, reduces your energy bills, but it’s important in maintaining the lifespan of your windows, frames, sills and doors.
While glass appears smooth to the touch, it is full of microscopic holes, these holes capture different elements, which causes the glass to wear down if they are not cleaned. Without regular cleaning of your windows dirt penetrates the glass which causes staining and makes the glass more susceptible to damage from exterior sources such as wind, rain, salt water and changes in temperature.
Mold that forms in the creases of your rubber seals can cause long term damage. Rubber is a naturally porous material that mold can penetrate leading to eventual decay and the breakdown of your seals producing draughty windows and increased energy bills.
At Pure Wash Window Cleaning, we recommend having your windows cleaned once per month. This is an optimal frequency, as we have found by week 5 windows and frames are starting to look dirty again. We cleaned our windows, using every popular frequency from every two weeks, monthly, bi-monthly, six weekly, and twelve weekly. We found that there was hardly any difference with cleaning our own windows every two weeks compared with the monthly cleans. After that six weekly and bi-monthly kept the glass to a good standard. Twelve weekly kept the glass and frames looking fair. We'd rather have frames and glass that looks amazing all the time, so we opted for the monthly cycle for our customers.
